Now I wonder just who is responsible for this little piece of subversive street art I found at the library on 3rd St?

These guys perhaps?
Viral marketing is king!

Went by the shop yesterday and picked up my sweet-ass new Burro Bag and let me tell you I couldn’t be happier with it! I have dubbed it the “Diablo Mk I Tac-Sack” and it’s a one-of-a-kind so don’t let me catch you trying to imitate or risk facing my wrath!

It is custom-made out of the seabag I used in Afghanistan with a gray-black tweed pocket, brown vinyl lining on the inside, black trim, and the front pocket is made out of my Desert Cammies (also worn in Afghan). Got the oxblood buckle and the on the strap and the straps that close it all up are also from the seabag. It worked out perfectly so that the strap and pocket sewn into the seabag are right on the back of the bag. It was meant to be!

Now get your ass over to Burro Bags on Main St, be creative and have the boys fix you up something special!
In other news there was lots of voting going on here at the library earlier. Now there is just a homeless pirate…
Arturo Clothing Co. has a new blog to tell the world all about their line fo t-shirts, tote bags, knit caps and sunglasses. I met these fine folks last weekend at The Night Ride and did my civic duty by introducing them to Emily at Anomaly where you can now find some of their stuff!
This is going to be badass!
While I was working on my bike yesterday, I took a break and spent some time with Matt breaking down the design for my custom Burro Bag. It’s going to be mainly constructed out of my Navy sea bags with my desert cammies on the front pocket. The inner lining will be brown vinyl, the bottom layer is a grayish black, inner pocket is black tweed, black trim and white strap with the oxblood buckle. You gonna be soooo jealous!
Pics when it’s done.
I’ve been meaning to make it down to Anomaly for Craft Night on Tuesdays for quite some time now, but something has always come up. I finally had a free moment to grab some beers and partake in the night’s crafting and left with some new acquaintances and a sweet-ass duct tape wallet. I even convinced my roommate to come outside the “beach bubble” and experience Jacksonville fe reals.
I think Emily was a bit surprised to see us show up but was excited we did. We had a great time making our wallets and partook in a few beers next door at Ragland’s afterwards. It was everything I hoped it would be and then some!
Anomaly is one of those stores/boutiques/whatever that really contributes to the sense of community of the 5 Points area and Urban Core as a whole. You owe it to yourself to check out the shop and try and make it for the next Craft Night and support local business. Keep tabs on the blog for announcements, pics and upcoming crafts.
See you tonight at Art Walk!!!
